The Network Administrator is responsible for the engineering, operation and maintenance of the corporate voice/data network and security infrastructure including: design, analysis and support for routers, switches, access points, firewalls and VPN concentrators.  The candidate must possess a broad range of skills with a minimum of 10 years of experience with WAN/LAN technologies, Windows Servers (2003, 2008) and Data Center operations.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Configure, manage and maintain switches, routers, firewalls, Access Points and VPN devices
  • Configure, manage and maintain Windows Server 2003\2008 and Linux servers
  • Configure, manage and maintain enterprise web services for IIS, FTP, and SMTP
  • Manage availability, performance and scalability of client facing applications in the data center
  • Manage and maintain Active Directory and Group Policy elements
  • Manage and configure VMware virtualized environment
  • Manage and maintain enterprise storage
  • Ensure network uptime performance to prevent negative business interruptions
  • Monitor and act proactively in the management of network performance
  • Minimize network down time through effective monitoring and problem resolution
  • Plans, implements, and supports the network and computing infrastructure plan.
  • Assists with technology planning.

Qualifications

  • 10 to 15 years’ experience managing systems and networks in a diverse environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar equivalent experience
  • In-depth knowledge of with switches, routers, access points, and firewalls
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows Server 2003 and 2008
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Lync or Office Communicator 2007
  • In-depth knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Knowledge of Exchange 2007 and/or 2010
  • Printers and print servers
  • Project management experience
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to create comprehensive technical documentation and drawings
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments

Education and Certifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in an information technology related field
  • Certifications: Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE); Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA); Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
