Project scope: 92 kW AC (109 kW DC) rooftop solar installation in three configurations atop two-story refrigerated storage facility
Project description: Borrego Solar subcontracted the installation of this challenging solar job for the nation’s oldest distributor of certified organic produce to PetersenDean. Installation on the building’s rounded roof required three separate configurations: - Construction of a solar awning from the roof’s second story at the front of the building.
- Flush mounted panels on the roof’s middle curved section
- Reverse-tilted modules at the roof crown
Challenge: System had to be engineered to fit enough panels on the south facing exposure to meet the power demands. To do this, a solar awning had to be created.
